As a productivity junkie, I loved the book The 12 Week Year by Brian Moran. The basic concept is to take your yearly goals and re-structure them into 12-week goals. It is the idea that a quarter becomes a year, a month becomes a quarter, and a week becomes a month (sorry if that is confusing!).
The idea behind the book makes you focus on the important stuff and the tactics presented in the book help you plan and score your success in the program. It is an interesting concept that I suggest any goal setter check out.
